Most billiard lights consist of a number of bulbs in a linear hanging fixture, which is typically placed above the center of a pool table. Beyond this standard set-up, styles range from individual hanging pendants to one shade incasing multiple bulbs. Once you have an idea of what bulb configuration you want, you can start narrowing by the stylistic elements.
Classic pool table lights are in the stained glass / Tiffany style. These range from patterns to literal images of pool cues. Modern style pool table lights will give a sleek look while rustic pool table lights will bring some of the outdoors in. Select a style that fits with your décor.
When you receive your billiard light, you’ll want to place it properly to get the best possible light for your pool table. The lights should hang at least 32 inches above the top of the pool table, with the bottom of the light being at eye level when standing. Center the light lengthwise over the table. Make sure the light reaches all the way to the rails of the pool table and that it provides even lighting.
